Roland Tichy

Roland Tichy was editor-in-chief of WirtschaftsWoche from 2007 to 2014. He studied economics, politics and communications in Munich and New Orleans. After two years on the planning team of the German Chancellor's Office, he joined WirtschaftsWoche as Bonn correspondent. After reunification, Roland Tichy was jointly responsible for the electronic media landscape in the Eastern German states as deputy broadcasting commissioner. He worked for well-known German business magazines and as a media consultant for major companies. For Handelsblatt, he headed the Berlin office. In 2008, he was awarded the Ludwig Erhard Prize for business journalism for his column "Tichys Totale." He published his columns in book form for the first time in 2009. Roland Tichy has written other books on immigration and population development, including "Ausländer rein" and "Die Pyramide steht Kopf."

In July 2014, Tichy was elected chairman of the Ludwig Erhard Foundation; his successor will be Roland Koch in September 2020. The online magazine "TICHYS EINBLICK" has been in existence since 2014 and the printed magazine of the same title appeared from 2016.
